DANCE FOR JULIE can spring a surprise and take the opener at the main expense of Hafawa and Caviar. Richard Hannon is always to be respected and although Caviar failed to quicken when necessary at Doncaster on debut, that looked a decent contest. Normal improvement can see this grey filly play a prominent role here, though she may not be to everyone's taste, as she is likely to start at a short price and may not represent value. Hafawa is bred to stay further, and though the Mark Johnston yard is respected at this level, a watching brief is advised, as there may well be better to come in the future. Dance for Julie went off an unconsidered outsider on her debut, but she stayed on best of all in a large field at Redcar. She finished a good third, and Dance for Julie will appreciate the stiff climb to the finish here and claim the opener.
