Verdict

Smart Hostess has shown improved form since being returned to sprint trips and, with John Quinn's stable continuing in such good form, she gets the vote to win again with Time N Time Again and Steel Blue rated the main dangers. The last mentioned, like the selection is well berthed close to the fence but makes less appeal at the weights. Time N Time Again is 14lbs better in with selection on running at Redcar earlier in the month but John Quinn's horse won with plenty in hand that day and can defy the rise in the weights. Mick Channon has his team in good form at present so Vigorous has to be respected along with George Stubbs, although Nick Littmoden's gelding may find this trip too sharp. Karminskey Park has claims on form but would probably prefer a softer surface, while Mr Pertemps may need the run having been off since April. David Chapman's Paddywack and Mitsuki, for who the booking of Jamie Spencer takes the eye, are others to consider but we are happy to side with the progressive Smart Hostess.
