Verdict

Cape Speed landed a hat-trick of all-weather wins early in the year but has been rested since April after a couple of woeful efforts. Stablemate Bathos has been well beaten recently and Drifting Spirit has something to prove now having shown progressive form last year. Huntlaw and Zealous ran poorly off higher marks last time having won at Ripon and Doncaster respectively before that but Musselburgh winner BILLY ROBERTS turned in another good effort off today’s mark at Ayr on his latest start - Richard Guest’s charge gets the nod.
