Rem Time has been performing creditably in similar low-grade handicaps and in banded races of late but this looks tougher off today's mark and preference is for Whitby Echo, who gets the vote ahead of Intavac Boy and Great View. The last mentioned is capable on his day and the booking of Kevin Darley takes the eye but the six-year-old does not score very often and, having obliged just two starts ago, may again need some help from the handicapper. Barella is closely matched with Great View on running last time and has to be considered along with Extra Cover, although he has yet to prove conclusively that he stays this far on turf. Platinum Charmer now seems to be in the grip of the handicapper and of more interest may be Chris Thornton's Intavac Boy, who could improve for today's longer trip. Whitby Echo seemed to show improved form when stepped up to 1m4f for his handicap debut when second to Balwearie at Thirsk last month and with the winner going on to frank the form last week, he holds solid claims off just a 3lb higher mark.
