In depth

Verdict

BE DARING had shown glimpses of ability before tackling heavy going for the first time at Fontwell when, well supported, he failed by only a neck to concede 7lb to Blue April. He should have no problems reversing the form with his rider's claim taking into consideration and can go one better. Brother Norphin, who finished third, was having his first start since March and making his debut for new connections so should get a bit closer. Kastani Beach hasn't won since 2015 but hasn't been running badly and is now on his lowest-ever mark. Argyle has never won and, though taking a slight drop in class, will need to do better while Sixties Idol, another long-time maiden, ran poorly on heavy ground at Fontwell last time.
