In depth

Verdict

A tough opener to the card and Jivaty, a fair second behind Dangerously Good on his debut, is just preferred over Jonanaud and West Coaster. Although Party Games has gone well here in the past an is worth monitoring for signs of each-way support. However, this appears to be a typical piece of placement by Martin Pipe for Jivaty and this former point-to-pointer can put his experience to good use today. The form of his debut effort under rules reads very well in the context of this race and with, improvement anticipated, Jivaty is expected to open his account under rules with the champion jockey doing the steering. Jonanaud is also going the right way and will also be hard to keep out of the frame if he copes with the ground this afternoon.
