Verdict

Not the best of races to start the day's proceedings and Martin Pipe seems to have found a suitable opportunity for Your So Cool to open his account and the gelding gets the vote over Old Bean and Spirit Of the Green. The selection was having his first start since finishing down the field behind Thisthatandtother in a Wincanton bumper in February 2002 when a respectable third behind the useful Palua in February. The lack of a recent outing should not be a problem for the son of Karinga Bay and a reproduction of his latest effort should suffice. Old Bean, a dual bumper winner, has yet to show any worthwhile form over hurdles but Nicky Henderson's team remain in good form so it would come as no surprise to see the eight-year-old step up on previous form. Spirit Of the Green ran promisingly over course and distance on his hurdling debut a month ago and is entitled to respect. Brook Street ran as well as could have been expected on his return after a year off at Towcester recently and is another worthy of a mention along with Redberry Holly, who ran in a better race than this here last time and will appreciate the testing conditions. However, Your So Cool sets a decent standard and should take all the beating.
