In depth

Verdict

Le Volfoni is the one to beat, with My World the one to give him most to do. Le Volfoni was successful over fences in France, and having chased home the useful Vor Poy Ustedes on only his second British outing at Warwick, it was no real surprise that he has gone on to win his next two outings. He revels in testing conditions, and connections will be heartened by the fact that the going is soft at the Sussex track. This race was immediately nominated as the target after his Haydock victory on 17 December, and he should be capable of giving weight and a beating to My World. The latter was beaten five lengths by Vor Puy Ustedes when they met over the course and distance three weeks ago, and on a line through Alan King's charge, the mare has it all to do to beat the selection. She should finish second though, and certainly makes more appeal than Sharp Rigging who looked one-paced when fourth in heavy ground at Uttoxeter last time. All in all, this is best left to Le Volfoni.
