Prince Among Men Ran a week ago at Goodwood over 1m4f which will have sharpened him up for today. Finished a good third on his penultimate start over hurdles at Cartmel. A distance winner at Ludlow last year; cannot be ignored.
Indiana Journey (IRE) Won his penultimate start over 2m on firm ground; consistent form suggests he is capable of being in the shake up today.
Ingletonian C&D winner in a seller last time; beat Toshiba Times who went on to win but likely to find others better today; place chances.
Rossel (USA) Has not won since January 2000 on soft ground. His last run at Cartmel showed signs of improvement when a clsoe second to Papua at Cartmel in August. Runs fresh; cannot be ignored.
Optimistic Thinker Has not run since Febuary. Needs to return to his best form from over a year ago (won a 2m chase at Uttoxeter on heavy) to be in with a chance here; first run over hurdles since April 1999.
Pertino Uninspired by all recent form; makes little appeal.
Ocean Line (IRE) Has been very disappointing since winning at Ayr over 2m in May. Capable at best but needs to reproduce that form.
Able Native (IRE) Finishes nearer the back than the front over hurdles and on the flat; others preferred.
Sandabar Won well at Sedgefield back in July. Soundly beaten on his starts since.
Genscher C&D winner in June ahead of Ingletonian, but has since been beaten 12L by Sandabar at Sedgefield. Off a nice weight today and has had a couple of sharpeners on the flat
Bodfari Signet Declared to run in the 5.30 at Beverley yesterday. Has had two credible runs on the flat latest. A winner at Musselburgh back in April over 1m1f. Will appreciate top of the ground; off this weight cannot be ignored.
