Verdict

A tricky finale in which most have some sort of chance. Laterly is high enough in the weights at present but will ensure there is no hanging about. Smadynium may do better dropped back in distance on better ground while Deepsand's connections will be looking for compensation after the four-year-old was brought down at the first when a hot favourite at Wetherby. PLATINUM was beaten less than two lengths at Newcastle on Sunday under Harriet Bethell having gone close on the Flat earlier this month. He looks in good heart at present and can get back to winning ways before being reassessed. Claude Carter is a summer jumper and may need this.
