In depth

Verdict

Kharak and Boss Tweed have both shown plenty of ability but preference is for Laouen who appears to hold outstanding claims. Lennie Lungo's charge, who has winning bumper form, has taken well to timber having landed all three of his starts over hurdles including at this track last time. The five-year-old impressed with his battling qualities to edge out a fancied rival and the form looks solid with the pair drawing well clear of the third. Boss Tweed may need the outing having been absent for almost a year so Kharak appeals for the forecast. Sue Bradburne's charge has not been disgraced in defeat since landing a similar event here in March and may give the selection most to do in receipt of 17lb.
