In depth

Verdict

CABERNET SAUVIGNON is sure to be popular following a good second to Vino Vino Cavo at Limerick and is taken to get the better of Saddlers' Supreme and Wind Shuffle. The selection represents the powerful McCoy/Elliott combination who boast a remarkable 48 per cent strike rate over the past five seasons. Cabernet Sauvignon has yet to win a race but he's made the frame twice in just six starts at hurdles and appears to be far more at home on faster ground. He comes into this race on the back of a career best performance and is taken to go one better. He may have most to fear from Wind Shuffle who ran as well as can have been expected behind Ciceron over course and distance on his most recent start over hurdles. That was just his fourth outing over obstacles and there should be more to come. Saddlers' Supreme was in the process of running a big race when brought down at the last earlier in the month and she may be able to make her presence felt again if none the worse for that tumble but we prefer Cabernet Sauvignon.
