Verdict

This looks wide open but Bernardelli has never encountered going this quick and disappointed last time. However, he beat Plus Jamais two runs ago and is a previous course winner as are Irish raider Topper Thornton, Royal Macnab and Presented. Silver Tassie hasn't had much luck since arriving from Ireland but the handicapper keeps edging him up the weights. NO DUFFER was struggling earlier in the season but he's got his act together again and was a comfortable winner of a valuable handicap at Haydock last month in which the first two finished well clear. He's been raised 8lb but that's not unreasonable and Tom George's charge is preferred to the mare Jennys Surprise, whose two recent wins have come in amateur races, and Voyage A New York.
