Tom George brings half of Poland to Perth this afternoon. Galileo, who has not won since winning the Royal and SunAlliance Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival two years ago, has his debut over fences and, if transforming his hurdles form of the past, would have little trouble defeating his opposition. However, his form has dwindled and the Perth fences do take some jumping and any chinks in his armour will hit him hard. Having said that, his run behind His Nibs at Aintree on his penultimate run was a good effort and showed a hint of his true ability. I could almost repeat what I've just said about Galileo in reference to Il Cavaliere. It's his debut, he was - and potentially still is - a very good hurdler rated in the one hundred and twenties, he has not won for some time but at his best could carry his rivals and still win. Blackout has been trying to break his maiden tag for a while now and wont be good enough. Nether will Duncrievie Gale whose only real form came when a distant second in a poor race at Newcastle on his penultimate start. Ta Ta For Now is a safe jumper but realistically can only win if the two hotpot debutants come to grief. A match between two classy hurdlers on their day but, if putting in a clear round, Galileo should hold too many guns for Il Cavaliere.
