Verdict

EFFET SPECIAL has gone up 7lb for last month’s course and distance victory but Lucinda Russell's charge won with plenty in hand and a line through the third gives him the beating of Calliope. The latter also scored over track and trip when successful here last week and carries a penalty while Bossiney Bay gave notice of a big run in this when runner-up here on the same day. Patience is wearing thin with Gemologist and Radjash showed improvement at Stratford, though has been raised 4lb.
