    Verdict

Ridasiyna won the Group 1 Prix De L'Opera over track and trip in October before ending last season with a creditable fourth at the Breeders' Cup. She looks sure to go close and collateral form gives her the beating of Giofra, the runner-up in this last year. Maxios made a winning reappearance in a Group 2 contest here three weeks ago but may come up short in this company and multiple Group 1 winner Dunaden will find today's trip short enough. Saonois won what now looks a modest renewal of the French Derby in June and failed to hold his form later in the season and another Derby winner is preferred. PASTORIUS won the German equivalent at Hamburg last year and went on to land another couple of Group races over today's shorter trip. He could be a force to be reckoned with as a four-year-old and Mario Hofer's colt gets the vote.
