      Verdict

      Spiritjim had already beaten Meleagros and Au Revoir earlier in the year before passing the post first in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Subsequently disqualified, he finished ahead of the frustrating Flintshire at Saint-Cloud and the latter was behind RULER OF THE WORLD in the Prix Niel at this meeting last year. Beaten only a short-head on that occasion, Aidan O'Brien's colt has his first start since disappointing in the Dubai World Cup and can return to winning ways ahead of stablemate Kingsbarns.
