Verdict

Three-year-olds have a very good record in this so Samovar, who completed a hat-trick when successful here in the spring, has to be considered after an encouraging return from a long break here earlier this month. Pavers Pride is in cracking form having won twice at Musselburgh and beaten a head at Ayr so should go well despite being on his highest ever mark. Dr Doro has won three of his last four and his only defeat came when tackling 6f. He wouldn't want any more rain and has shot up the weights but looks likely to give another good account. Ocelot gained reward for some fine efforts when dropping into this grade at Musselburgh. He's at home on very quick ground so he's another who wouldn't want the going to ease. His new stable companion BECKER is just the type his trainer does so well with. He's been gelded since joining the yard and is back on the same mark as when last successful so gets the vote in a tricky sprint handicap in which Tan, who ran much better than expected from a long way out of the handicap at Catterick, is also respected.
