In depth

Verdict

Fidelias Dance is taken to beat the more experienced Rio Taffeta, with In Honour just another to mention in a tricky contest. The opener on the card is a bit of a puzzle to sort out with so many debutantes on view, and only a modest vote is given to Fidelias Dance, whose stable has already been in good form with its newcomers. A 65,000gns yearling, Fidelias Dance is entered for a couple of valuable sales races later in the year, and will lack for nothing in preparation. In Honour, a son of Spartacus, is owned by John Fretwell, whose by now familiar pale green colours are synonymous with juvenile winners, and it will be a shock if this one does not pay his way over the summer, while of those to have raced, Rio Taffeta makes most appeal after his close third at Folkestone last time. The market will be a guide as well, but our tentative vote goes to Fidelias Dance.
