In depth

Verdict

Lyrical Blues, Royal Power and Mr Cheers look the three to concentrate on in this maiden and the confident vote is given to Lyrical Blues. The selection was a good second on his debut behind Salut Him. That horse has since run well in a better race, he is sure to have learnt from the experience and from a good draw he will be hard to beat. Royal Power rates the main danger as he is a well bred Xaar colt, half brother to 6f and 1m winner Flipando and is from a yard that ready a newcomer so he should be noted in the market. Mr Cheers was a fair fourth on his debut behind Ace Baby and is another that is sure to improve but he may be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time. Of the remainder Hillbilly Cat is a Running Stag colt out of triple 4yo winner Flashy Cat and is another that could go well but in a race where the market may well tell all for the winner we return to Lyrical Blues.
