        Verdict

        Luis Melendez is in hot form at present and is hard to oppose this evening, Augustine and Sforzando may do best of the others. The selection made it three wins on the bounce when successful over this trip at Newbury. He led throughout to beat Shosolosa by a comfortable length and there could still be more in the locker. Augustine is game and consistent and put in another solid effort last time out when chasing home Custodian at Leicester. He can be expeceted to run his race again. Sforzando returned to winning ways at Haydock last time. She ran on gamely to beat United Nations and could still be on a decent mark. Santando is now at the right end of the handicap and may do best of the others. Luis Melendez though is expected to make it four victories in a row.
