In depth

Verdict

Not a race that will take much winning and this looks a good opportunity for Peace Flag with Titinius and Hov as the chief dangers. John Gosden's charge showed a useful level of form last year and confirmed the promise of her debut third behind the smart Illustria at Newbury when landing a private Jockey Club event at Newmarket from a subsequent winner. The daughter of Gold Fever was out of her depth when making her seasonal reappearance in the Fred Darling Stakes but, with her stable showing signs of better form, she should take full advantage of this significant drop in grade. Luca Cumani has his string in good shape at present so Titinius, who showed some ability in two juvenile starts, has to be feared at this level if fit to do himself justice following a six-month break. Hov has shown respectable form but is already beginning to look expensive to follow and may have to settle for minor honours once again.
