Verdict

An effective double penalty may not be enough to stop the progressive Bill Bennett at this level and he is given the nod over Valiant Air and Nocatee; although Northern Spirit could go well out of those available at bigger prices and he is one to watch in the betting. However, Bill Bennett has really found his stride now that there is sufficient cut in the ground and he could still have enough scope to brush this bunch aside today. Valliant Air is very lightly weighted and could be the best of the rest but, from a mark of just 67, Bill Bennett looks the one to be on even though he is trying this trip for the first time today. However, he would be unlikely to go up too much if he were successful here and Jonathan jay would still have plenty of horse to work with after the handicapper has done his job over the weekend.
