Verdict

Lap of Honour, Mineral Star and Rain Stops Play should fight out the finish in this handicap to close the card and the vote is given to Lap Of Honour. The selection won well last time at Beverley when beating Tizzy May. He does have a penalty for that success but the manner of the win marked him down as one to stay on the right side of and he can come out on top again. Mineral Star is another last-time-out winner but he was all-out to beat Direct Debit and this looks a taller order. Rain Stops Play is a course and distance winner and he was only narrowly beaten by Archiestown last time at Newmarket. A reproduction of that effort would give him a real chance as there is little doubt that he is well-treated. However, he is not the most consistent and it remains to be seen if he can replicate the form. A tricky race to round off proceedings which can go to Lap Of Honour.
