Magical Effect is the one with real scope for improvement and it'll be fascinating to see what the former Godolphin inmate produces after moving to Ruth Carr. However, an absence of well over 300 days may mean the run is needed, especially against the battle-hardened sorts he meets here, none of whom have any secrets from the handicapper. Ambitious Icarus is likely to pop up soon and REGAL PARADE is no back number at this level at the age of 12. Indeed, he's been bang on the premises at Goodwood the last twice and a repeat of those efforts will see him in the mix. Giant Spark has gone well the last twice but is 12lb higher than when landing his penultimate start. Ivan Furtado does well when receiving horses from other yards so Bushephalus is also of interest, especially sporting first-time blinkers.
