Verdict

Some useful handicappers clash for a good purse but YOU'RE FIRED is taken to prevail for the Karl Burke team which has been in red-hot form of late. A really good handicapper at around this trip, he dropped down to 7f the last day when earning black type behind So Beloved in Listed company at Haydock and already has a win to his name under promising apprentice Jordan Vaughan, the pair having landed a competitive Haydock handicap in April. Vaughan's 5lb claim could just prove the decisive factor with trip and ground to suit. Spark Plug continues to run well enough in decent handicaps but the suspicion is that Brian Meehan would appreciate the handicapper dropping his charge a few pounds. Express Himself is talented but was below par the last day and The Warrior could well emerge as the main threat. This hold-up merchant has struggled for a run on recent starts but this fair straight and a smaller field should give Pat Dobbs the chance to get the former Ballydoyle inmate properly organised to deliver a late thrust.
