In depth

Verdict

The getting-out stakes is a nightmare for punters with lots having claims on their recent exploits. Millersford may pay to follow to small stakes, with Good Potential, Sovereign and Scarface just three more with each-way claims. This will definitely have pundits scratching their heads for a lead, and it is more in hope than optimism that we select Millersford to come out on top. Nick Gaselee's charge is one of the oldest in the race but that did not stop him at Uttoxeter last time as he turned the race into a procession under Andrew Thornton. maybe the rest of the field thought that he would come back to them but he did not and similar tactics here may pay off again despite a small rise in the weights. Beedulup is just out of the handicap but will be a danger based on his past form, while Good Potential was a beaten favourite at Southwell, failing to last out the trip. Unlucky here the time before it would be no surprise if he were to be in the shake-up either. Sovereign, Linus and Scarface were all placed in moderate company last time but the trio all have decent racing weights. As stated earlier, this is very tricky, but we will stay loyal to Millersford to crack out and make all.
