Verdict

River City gets the confident vote to make it three in a row with River Pirate and Bonnie Flora rating the main dangers. The selection has won his last two races in good style and although he made a bad mistake when defeating Rookery Lad last time out that may have woken him up and under conditions that suit he is taken to defy a double penalty. River Pirate rates the main danger on his best form but he was very disappointing behind Musical Stage last time and for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. . Bonnie Flora is another worthy of respect but she ran when clear in the race won by River City so is another to have reservations about. Irish Distinction and Riccarton have shown very little to date over fences and fore the winner we return to River City.
