PUFF is the clear form pick with Manx Miss and Tomintoul Singer two of the more interesting candidates in a race that has produced its share of shocks over the years. Ralph Beckett's filly is rated 13lbs clear of the field following her fine fourth in the Cheveley Park Stakes. There appeared to be no fluke about that performance and this would appear to be an obvious opportunity for her to gain a Black Type success. Conniption finished second in her group when a 5 length fifth in an Ayr Group 3 but the form has taken a few knocks and she was behind Queen's Grace at Salisbury prior to that. Amitola landed a touch in good style on debut but this is a big step up and maiden winners of more interest may be Manx Miss and Tomintoul Singer. The Irish raider has yet to race on grass but the third at Dundalk gave the form a boost when winning next time and connections believe that there's more to come. Tomintoul Singer can't be recommended on the bare form of her win at Folkestone but she won readily and some fillies do improve considerably at this time of year and she's been given plenty of time. Seeking Dubai didn't run too badly in a Listed race at Maisons-Laffitte last month and may benefit from the return to six but it's difficult to get away from Puff.
