      Verdict

there are one or two interesting newcomers on show, but ion truth this is likely to be an easier race than the one in which Ballybeg made his debut, and wuth that experience under his belt Richard Hannon's colt is expected to get off the mark here. Ballybeg was not entirely unfancied beforehand when making his debut at Newbury last week, where he led in the early stages before eventually finishing seventh of 16 behind the highly regarded Regal Royale. Time will probably show that to be a decent performance and he should strip fitter now so looks the one to beat. The Godolphin debutant, Ans Bach, is not particularly well-bred, but is worth noting in the market. The Michael Jarvis-trained Deutschland, a Red Ransom colt who is a full brother to Hanseatic League, is another newco0mer to note, as is James Toller's River Thames. This Efisio colt is from the same family as Lochsong so is clearly bred for speed. However, Ballybeg should set a good standard here and he gets the nod.
