    Verdict

The tough Premio Loco looks sure to be a factor again here as he had Trumpet Major more than five lengths behind in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood last month, though the latter possibly didn't have the race run to suit that day and Chris Wall's eight-year-old was also some way adrift of Side Glance in the Queen Anne Stakes at Ascot earlier. Something was clearly amiss with St James's Palace Stakes winner MOST IMPROVED in the Jacques le Marois at Deauville last time and he does appear to have two ways of running. He also has a Group 1 penalty in this but is probably the class act and is fancied to return to winning ways as Penitent, though improved this year, ideally needs more give in the ground. Saigon has still to convince that he truly stays 1m and Fanunalter disappointed when favourite for a Group 3 in Norway last time. Tazahum and Sovereign Debt may find this too tough and Stipulate is held on all known form but that's not the case with Joviality and John Gosden's classy filly ran a blinder in the Grade 1 Beverly D in the States last month. Her poor run here previously in the Falmouth Stakes can be put down to the soft ground and she'll be a big danger to the selection.
