Verdict

BECAUSEWECAN is narrowly preferred here to Solar Graphite and Supernoverre. Mark Johnston has got his horses in terrific form and he looks to have a good chance here with Becausewecan. The colt was last seen finishing third at Southwell on his reappearance in March off a mark of 76, and he races off the same mark today. Although the best of his form has come on slow ground, he should be able to cope with this quicker surface and it should help him over this new trip this evening. If he fails to shine then it may be Supernoverre who takes advantage. He comes here chasing a hat-trick following wins at Kempton and Catterick and must be a big player despite a further 5lb rise in the weights. Kaolak and Dazinksi need to step up on recent showings, so of more interest may be Solar Graphite. John Dunlop's gelding ran well in defeat last time out at Goodwood and he is the sort of horse that his trainer excels with. Royal Trooper needs considering receiving plenty of weight however it is Becausewecan who can.
