Verdict

A fascinating race which has twice fallen to Jeremy Noseda in the last six years and Salisbury second Rule Maker has to rate highly but preference is for the rejuvenated SAN CASSIANO. The gelding's former trainer, Ralph Beckett, appeared to hold the gelding in quite high regard but he lost his way and was sent to Ruth Carr for a change of scenery in the hope that it would freshen him up. It certainly seems to have done the trick as he was impressive when winning on debut for the yard and looks capable of building up a sequence. Rule Maker has been raised 6lbs for his head defeat which is never ideal but he may be better suited by getting a lead which could be provided by Rule Breaker who needs to bounce back from a poor run or Kona Coast who is capable of going close here as he showed when third to smart pair Oasis Dancer and Balducci in May. The game and one-eyed First Cat should be on the premises but we'll take him on with San Cassiano.
