    Verdict

Larkwing could be considered unlucky not to be closer last time and gets the vote to gain compensation here, with Turnstile and Water Taxi others for the frame. The selection has the most experience on offer here with three runs in public, and being by Ela-Mana-Mou should be suited by this step up to 12 furlongs. Well beaten by the useful Bull Run on soft at Windsor in April, he was staying on really well when hampered at Chester and looked very unlucky. That is the best form on offer and we will side with him to break his duck here. Of the others, there is little to shout about, with Turnstile trying this trip for the first time. He should be suited by this and needed his first run at Newbury, so with fitness now not in doubt, Her Majesty's colt can go well. Water Taxi's six length Salisbury second to runaway Glasgow Stakes winner Day Flight now reads much better and with faster ground to help his cause he can get much closer here, but we are happy to side with Larkwing, who is a confident choice to get it right this time.
