Verdict

An interesting renewal and the vote goes to Eagle Mountain ahead of Notnowcato and the intriguing Creachadoir. Derby second Eagle Mountain has not had the best of times since that race but with a confidence boosting win under his belt last time at the Curragh, he is fancied to win again. He is not the most straightforward, but he will be at home on the ground and now over what appears to be his optimum trip, he gets the nod. Stablemate Mount Nelson has a bit to find and may need the run but shouldn't be underestimated as he has proven a tough cookie in the past. Notnowcato is likely to be popular given his scintillating win in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown however he was easily brushed aside next time up at York. He is proven on ground with some cut in but if the ground deteriorates any more then it is unlikely to suit so despite his class he can be passed over. As can Creachadoir who steps up to this trip again. Formerly with Jim Bolger before joining the 'Boys In Blue', he has run well on soft ground, however his best form has come on quicker ground so despite more improvement to come given he is passed over. Mullins Bay could go well at a price but may just be slightly below this top echelon, whilst the three French contenders warrant respect, the best of which appears to be Doctor Dino. Multidimensional must be high on most shortlists as Henry Cecil's colt has gone from strength to strength but he may just find himself slightly outclassed today. All in all a fantastic prospect, and the vote goes to Eagle Mountain.
