Verdict

Further rain would suit Moonlightnavigator and De Sousa is an interesting jockey booking, though he still looks a few pounds too high and a number of his rivals arrive in top form. Takatul and Replenish are closely matched on Lingfield running and look better treated than Pontefract winner Red Tea. They go on the short-list but Calvados Spirit didn’t beat much at Wolverhampton and is 8lb higher. G K Chesterton is lightly raced and was only beaten a neck at Nottingham on his first run since being gelded but we like the way STORM AHEAD shaped on his reappearance in the Spring Cup at Newbury, where he will have found the ground quick enough. Marcus Tregoning’s charge went close here in the autumn and may be ready to resume winning ways.
