Just the four runners in the race that is traditionally open only to two-year-olds owned by Members of the Jockey Club. An interesting race with the John Gosden-trained Peace Flag likely to be sent off as the favourite. Very much American bred, it will be interesting to see how she copes with the rain-softened going. The form of her debut has worked out pretty well though with the second, Secret Pride, and fifth, Ego (also fourth in the Cheveley Park Stakes) winning since. Gerard Butler runs an interesting newcomer in Compton Eclipse (a son of Singspiel). Ed Dunlop runs Moonsprite, a Seeking The Gold daughter of the 1995 Oaks winner Moonshell. She should stay middle-distances next year. Mark Tompkins provides the other runner, Thingmebob, a Bob Back half-sister to a number of winners, including the very decent Steenberg (also trained by Tompkins) who won over seven furlongs as a two-year-old and was Group-placed at three. To support Peace Flag at prohibitive odds would not be recommended so Compton Eclipse is suggested as the TEAMtalk selection as an alternative in a race where the market might provide the best guide.
