In depth

Verdict

Mick Channon sets a poser by saddling three runners. La Campanella has had a long season, but she shows no signs of having had enough. She is effective on soft ground and should go well, while stablemate B A Highflyer is another who has been kept busy and turned in his best effort of the season when just touched off at York. However, the pick of his runners could be Aries, who can be forgiven her effort at Catterick as she had little chance from her draw. She is better judged on her effort here earlier in the month over an extra furlong. She has plenty of pace and will not be inconvenienced by this shorter trip. The vote goes to the maiden Dancing Forest, who has already proven he handles the ground and will be better suited to this stiff six-furlongs, having given the impression that seven just stretches him.
