Verdict

A wide open affair in which the consistent Silence Is Golden can finally come good ahead of Ice Palace, Tadris and Miss Corniche to name but three. Brian Meehan has seen Silence Is Golden run any number of good races in defeat of late, the most recent of which was a close second to the younger Echoes In Eternity in Listed company at Yarmouth. She had earlier made Leporello pull out all the stops at Haydock and if ever a filly deserves to visit the winner's enclosure, she does. Tadris may prove best of the three-year-olds, having posted a number of good efforts this term, including when coaxed home at Ascot. She does need to be tenderly handled however and will need things to fall right. In addition she is not guaranteed to maintain recent placings with Ice Palace on seven pound worse terms. Miss Corniche returned to form when touched off by Imtiyaz at Goodwood and appears to like this trip, while both Rachel and La Dolfina who hails from last year's winning yard, will have their each-way supporters. With Beneventa appearing to have gone off the boil, we have no hesitation in siding with Silence Is Golden who can run another big race.
