A disappointing turn out for the decent prize money on offer and this looks a good opportunity for Scott's View to make a winning return at the main expense of Westmoreland Road. Mark Johnston's four-year-old showed progressive form throughout last season to win eight of his 13 races which saw him improve by 34lbs. The son of Selkirk notched his biggest success when landing a valuable mile-and-a-half handicap at Ascot's Festival of Racing meeting in September and was then far from disgraced when stepped up in to Pattern company on his final start last term. The selection suffered a setback earlier in the year but has conditions in his favour and should prove too classy for today's rivals. Westmoreland Road looked a smart prospect when recording back-to-back wins earlier this year including a conditions event over this trip on the Rowley Mile course in May. Amanda Perrett's charge ran an excellent race when a close third behind High Accolade in a Listed event at Goodwood in May but hasn't been seen since and looks vulnerable under his penalty while neither Foreign Affairs or Defining look good enough on these terms.
