ORIEL failed to run her race in the Queen Mary at last month's Ascot but Richard Hughes sticks with her here in preference to Kempton fourth Manderley. The former has every chance on her earlier third at Newbury if returning to her best. Qawaasem had Saffire Song six lengths behind when third over track and trip on her debut and Paul Hanagan prefers her to newcomer Musalaha while Grevillea is another to consider as she drops back in trip after a promising debut effort at Newbury. Amnesia cost 180,000gns as a yearling and is worth noting along with another expensive purchase in J Wonder but Gay Kelleway won this in 2010 with a 40/1 newcomer so Lucky Surprise may well make a bold bid to live up to her name.
