In depth

Verdict

Capricho is 10lb higher than when landing the Wokingham and drew the incorrect weight when deadheating for first in the Bunbury Cup so may struggle on this occasion. Lord Protector has a poor strike rate for one of his ability and looks opposable once again while Aldora has paid the price for landing a Goodwood gamble in May. Takes Tutu showed battling qualities in the first-time visor last time but more is required off his revised mark and the classy Ratio may need the outing so Polar Ben is the tentative TEAMtalk choice. The lightly raced James Fanshawe-trained gelding is open to plenty of improvement having already shown useful form to beat his useful stablemate Heretic at Haydock (7f on soft ground) in June and will prove hard to keep out of the frame with conditions in his favour.
