Verdict

RESORT has the right profile for this race and is selected ahead of Balaagha and Good Again. Sir Michael Stoute has saddled two winners of this race sporting the Cheveley Park silks in the past five years and they have strong claims again if one ignores the filly's latest effort. There were no obvious reasons for Resort's flop at Chester but she had looked promising prior to that and the form of the race hasn't worked out too badly. She was also weak in the market on that occasion and, providing that the ring offers more encouragement this time, it's worth giving her the chance to prove that that running was wrong. She had just got the better of Balaagha when winning her maiden at headquarters in April so the Jarvis filly has to be seriously entertained despite a slightly disappointing result at Goodwood when well supported; she remains capable of better. Mo Mhuirnin and Cumana Bay are progressing well, Lovely Thought, Pyrrha and Mastoora may prove capable of better yet whilst Foundation Room (who was in front of the selection at Chester) will be more at home in this company and should go well. Never Lose is probably high enough in the weights but comes here on the back of three solid efforts so enters calculations along with Photographic who failed to run her race at Royal Ascot. Good Again finished in front of her there when ridden more prominently than usual and she should be finishing off strongly here with the likely strong pace and stiff finish sure to negate the drop back in trip. She has a decent turn of foot but doesn't look as well handicapped as the other pair on the short-list. The vote goes the way of Resort.
