Verdict

Aidan O’Brien runs four in an attempt to complete a hat-trick of victories in the first fillies’ classic and grab a fifth win in total. Happily came unstuck in the Breeders’ Cup but won the Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and Gran Criterium prior to her trip across the Atlantic and she is bred in the purple being a full sister to the likes of Gleneagles and Marvellous. Ryan Moore rides so she’s preferred to I Can Fly, Sizzling and Sarrocchi. Charlie Appleby has yet to train the winner of this but Godolphin has won it three times and hold a strong hand again. Soliloquy beat Altyn Orda and Billesdon Brook in the Nell Gwyn and Wild Illusion won the Prix Marcel Boussac in the autumn. A line through the runner-up that day gives her the edge over last year’s Fillies’ Mile winner Laurens. Charity horse Dan's Dream is making giant strides but this may just come too soon in her career. LIQUID AMBER was hugely impressive when winning a Group 3 at the Curragh in August. The runner-up was well behind Happily next time but Willie McCreery’s filly is open to any amount of improvement on just her third start and wouldn’t be running in this if her trainer didn’t think she was up to it.
