      Verdict

SAVARAIN is given the benefit of the doubt and is taken to get the better of The Betchworth Kid with Fiulin taken to win the race for third. Savarain and The Betchworth Kid are the pick on official ratings although Fiulin and Resplendent Light don't have too much to find with Michael Bell's runner. Savarain hasn't always looked entirely straightforward and that is a slight concern in a race which could become tactical but it's worth giving him the benefit of the doubt on what is just his eighth career start. He may also improve for his first attempt beyond a mile and a half and he represents the yard that took this race last year. The Betchworth Kid was some way behind Savarain at Ascot earlier in the season but has improved significantly for being stepped up in trip. His recent victories have come on soft ground but he's versatile with regard to underfoot conditions although he may need a strongly run race to be seen at his best. Resplendent Light has come up short at this level in France the last twice and isn't entirely certain to see out this longer trip on paper. Therefore, the most interesting of the remainder is Fiulin who stayed on gamely to win over this trip at Yarmouth last time and wouldn't need to improve too much to be a factor. He did get the run of the race on that occasion though and the claims of Savarain are preferred.
