In depth

Formwatch

John Hunter (IRE) Has gone off the boil recently; face a stiff task under burden of 10st.

Captain's Log Well placed to win in minor company earlier in the season; still fighting a losing battle with the handicapper.

Inducement Comes here fresher than most having raced only once previously this term; disappointed then so can't be backed with confidence

Pinchincha (FR) Consistent handicapper having found one too good one each of his last three starts; should be involved in the finish again on a course where he goes well.

Burgundy Overall level of form suggests that improvement is needed off current mark.

Iron Mountain (IRE) Has been running with great credit over a mile recently; better over this sort of trip and goes well here. Good mount for an apprentice and sure to go close.

Everest (IRE) No real sign of encouragement from recent outings; difficult to recommend.

Mini Lodge (IRE) Solid form last season; makes belated reappearance today and has claims if fit enough.

Petrus (IRE) Inconsistent handicapper; unreliable betting proposition.

Trouble Mountain (USA) Sprung a surprise when winning two outings ago; claims if in the same mood again today.

Gingko Winner at Doncaster in May; has been off since mid-July and may be in need of the outing.

Waverley Road Well held at York last time but earlier form at Goodwood over 1m1f gives him every chance.

Tommy Lorne One of the stable's lesser lights; difficult to recommend.

Briery Mec Twice successful this term on faster ground; would not want any more rain.

Atacat (IRE) String of duck's eggs not an encouraging sign.

Kylkenny Impressive when justifying heavy support at Pontefract last month; 7lb rise since far from harsh and should be thereabouts again.

Amigo (IRE) Never dangerous at Epsom last time; unlikely to figure in the finish here.

Rainstorm Running well at present but more to do from out of the weights proper today.

Smarter Charter Does not win all that often and unlikely to add to seasonal tally carrying more than long handicap rating.

Gold Rider (IRE) Faces a difficult task from out of the handicap here.

Total Care Has failed to trouble the judge so far this term but has claims on the best of his form; look out for a move in the market.

Hadleigh (IRE) Winning form over one mile; not certain to be suited by the longer trip here.

Lycian (IRE) Improved effort at Leicester last time behind Robandella when badly drawn; needs to improve again though.

Sherzabad (IRE) Better over further and out of the weights proper; difficult to recommend.
