    Verdict

Millville does not appear to be badly treated and is worth supporting to return to the winner's enclosure, with Tip The Dip, Fort and Vinando three principle dangers. Millville was quite profitable to follow on the all-weather last winter but has only been lightly raced on Turf this year. That softly softly approach with an animal that has had his problems is expected to pay off this autumn, and he certainly has a good chance here against opponents who have been kept busy in the main. The draw beat him at York the time before last, while at Haydock he was ridden to last out the longer trip and shaped well behind subsequent winner Defining. Today's mile and a half will be much more suitable and off what may turn out to be a kind mark of 85, he can make up for lost time. Tip The Dip meets Solo Flight on the same terms as when beaten a neck at Newbury, but, as that was his first outing in a year, he can be fancied to turn the tables, and John Gosden's charge will be a live danger. Fort has a six-pound penalty for his demolition job at Ascot on Sunday but if in similar mood, cannot be discounted. Nor can the lightly raced Vinando who needed his return at Kempton recently, but an interesting contest can go to Millville who has conditions in his favour today.
