In depth

Verdict

Special Prep stays the trip well as he showed over 3m2f at Doncaster and he very nearly overcame a 9lb rise at Catterick. Jet Master has been superbly placed to win nine races, including over this trip from higher marks. His last two runs have been over hurdles but he won over 2m4f over fences here in November. Straidnahanna won a Catterick handicap at this level just over a year ago but hasn't shown much subsequently while Petiville found 3m5f too far at Warwick after showing some potential in earlier starts. ASCOT DE BRUYERE has been to this track three times and won them all, twice by wide margins including when making all last month. Not surprisingly he's been hit with a 13lb rise but he's difficult to oppose in this kind of form.
