Verdict

There's rarely any hanging around in this well-established stamina test in which Sam's Adventure was successful in 2021. Brian Ellison's charge returned to winning ways for the first time since at Catterick and is still a stone lower than two years ago so has to be respected. Kitty's Light last won two years ago but has been competing at a much higher level and has dropped to a low enough mark to get into contention. Eva's Oskar won over 3m2f at Cheltenham earlier this month though has yet to prove he stays this far but THE GALLOPING BEAR could be the one to beat. A regular winner between the flags and in hunter's races, he finished first past in the lucrative Grand National Trial at Haydock a year ago only to lose the race in favour of Bristol De Mai. More rain would do his chances no harm and he can get back on the winning trail. Bushypark is best on very testing ground and is unlikely to have his conditions.
