In depth

Verdict

Acdc only had two opponents to beat at Kelso and was getting 13lb from the runner-up but Richard Johnson has been booked so better must be expected. Clan Legend looks a safer option as he's won eight of his 19 races over jumps, including at this level at Haydock in December. He may not have had the strong gallop he needs in a small field last time and Lucy Alexander can steer him into the frame. Nigel Hawke sends GREYBOUGG (NAP) on the very long journey from Devon and the trip can pay off. An impressive winner at Uttoxeter in April, he ran well for a long way on his comeback at Newbury then tackled better company back there in December where he found the trip too short. Takingrisks looked to be going easily when falling three out at Kelso and was taking on better company at Wetherby last time so should get into the mix.
